Caspian has extensive experience throughout the entire mining chain. From grade control and drill and blast through load haul and dump and finally site rehabilitation, we are a single service provider solution.

Grade Control:

Caspian’s fleet of reverse circulation drill rigs are capable of producing 89-127mm diameter holes. The fleet is fitted with state-of-the-art GPS and software, enabling precise drilling programs tailored to our clients’ objectives.

Drill and Blast: 

Our certified shot-firers and charge-up crews have over 30 years’ experience. Utilizing a fleet of top hammer drill rigs, boring 89-140mm patterns, our drill and blast teams have produced over 20 million tonnes per annum.

Load, Haul and Dump:

Across our active projects Caspian operates a mixed fleet of over 35 50-100 tonne class off highway trucks and 15 50-165 tonne class excavators. The earth-moving teams have a dedicated fleet-support group enabling continuous remote operations. Our operators are trained in-house and we employ a dedicated team of specialist technicians and mechanics capable of overhauling major components on site.

Site Rehabilitation:

During the working life of the mine-site Caspian mitigates the environmental impact of the project by screening waste rock-dumps using the removed topsoil, enabling regrowth. Once a resource is exhausted, Caspian partners with local stakeholders to ensure the site is thoroughly rehabilitated, topsoil replaced and fully replanted with indigenous seedlings from our nurseries.

Concrete Works:

Caspian runs a fleet of 10 mobile mixers, 2 concrete pumps and a 60m³/hr batching plant, enabling us to tailor concrete production solutions to the client’s needs. This flexibility enables us to provide on-site materials to varied civil engineering projects, including bridges, high-rise buildings, power stations and roads.   

Earthworks:

Primarily employed on active mine-sites, Caspian’s earthworks division combines our extensive engineering know-how with the capabilities of our mining specific fleet. From access roads and tailings storage facilities to water storage dams and large scale foundations, we offer our mining clients a complete turnkey solution for site construction.

Buildings:

With over 20 years of experience, Caspian has been the lead contractor on a huge range of construction projects.  Providing critical infrastructure for Tanzania’s development, we’ve built structures for airports, distribution centers, residential complexes, power stations and police stations.
