Akram is the Founder of Caspian. With over 18 years of business experience, Akram has been the driving force behind the growth and expansion of Caspian. Akram diversified the company’s services into mining, construction and agriculture. Specializing in Plant and Equipment and with a keen eye to the future, Akram heads the technical directorate of the Company.

Habib has a broad base of international business and investment experience from large organizations to small entrepreneurial firms. Prior to joining Caspian Group as its Group Chief Executive in June ‘04, he was the Head of the Advisory & Research Department at The Executive Office, the private office and think tank of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, which has been behind the latest development of transformational concepts for the social and economic development of Dubai. Before joining The Executive Office in 2000, he was a currency and options trader in the global interbank FX market. Prior to that, he was a research scientist in the fields of offshore oil and gas, naval architecture, and aerospace materials. Born in 1966 he has a degree in Electronic & Electrical Engineering from University College London, University of London, UK.

Peter is well known in the Tanzanian mining sector, including 41 years in management of open pit and deep level underground gold mining operations in Africa which include South Africa, Namibia, Mali, Tanzania and Ghana. Overseeing work forces of up to 45,000 employees. Peter practiced as a certified mechanical engineer in underground operations for 7 years prior to moving into operational management roles. Peter has serves on a number of boards across mining companies in Africa.

John is a registered Quantity Surveyor as well as a member of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), and the former President of the Tanzania Institute of Quantity Surveyors. He attained his professional qualifications from the University of College of Lands and Architectural Studies (UCLAS), and an MBA Milpark Business School (2008). Equipped with substantial experience in working with international organizations and a successful career with Wade Adams and Skanska in Tanzania, John joined Caspian Ltd in July 2003 as Chief Estimator.

Bikash has over 25 years as a chartered accountant, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal, and a temporary member of the Tanzanian Institute of Accountancy. Bikash has been with the company since 2010, but previously obtained a broad range of experiences working in real estate, mining and hotels.

Simon was born in New Zealand and studied as a mining engineer in Australia at the University of Queensland. After graduating he worked at Resolute Gold’s Mt Wright underground gold mine in Queensland. Before joining IMC Mining Consultants in Brisbane he practiced as a mining consultant working on many projects across a diverse range of commodities. He returned to Tanzania in 2011 as Operations Manager for Lake Victoria Gold, a private gold exploration company, which he ran for 4 and a half years. Simon then branched out on his own as a consultant and raised funding to develop projects in Tanzania as one of the founding directors of Tandala Gold Ltd before joining Caspian. Simon is currently responsible for identifying business opportunities and ensuring Caspian remains well positioned in a fluid market.

Louis has qualifications in mining, finance and engineering from Technikons and Universities in South Africa. After graduating from his studies, he joined Moolman Mining in 1995 and worked with them until 2006, during this time Louis was based on projects across South- ern Africa, including gold, coal and diamonds. Louis started as a trainee blaster and left as a Project production manager

Louis then joined Caspian in 2007, after a brief stint on Rossing Uranium mine in Namibia, he has been a project manger for Caspian at Tulawaka, Golden Pride and Williamsons Diamonds. Louis has had over 25 years of operational mining experience, of which over 10 years has been in Tanzania.
